9 Ways to Maintain a High-Vibe

Have you ever noticed how when you’re feeling good, everything seems to flow—and when you’re feeling low, things seem to go wrong one after another? That’s not just coincidence. That’s the Law of Attraction in action.
At its core, the Law of Attraction is about energy. Specifically, the energy you emit (your frequency)—and how it magnetizes similar energy back to you. In other words, like attracts like.
The Law of Attraction is one of the universal laws that suggests we attract into our lives whatever we focus on—whether it’s positive or negative. It works through the principle that thoughts are energy, and this energy influences the experiences we draw into our lives.
In simple terms:
- When you think high-vibrational thoughts (love, gratitude, abundance), you attract high-vibrational experiences.
- When you think low-vibrational thoughts (fear, doubt, lack), you attract situations that reflect those same energies.
Your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and actions emit a frequency that the universe mirrors back to you. If you want to change what you attract, change what you emit.
What Are Frequencies and Vibrations?
Everything in the universe—your thoughts, emotions, your body, and even material objects—vibrates at a particular frequency.
Frequency is the invisible signal you emit through your thoughts, emotions, and actions, and it affects everything you experience.
We are vibrational beings living in an energetic universe. If we want to vibrate at a high frequency, we have to align our energy and thoughts with high-frequency emotions.

While you may be skeptical of whether this is actually accurate, I can tell you firsthand that once I started changing my thoughts and actions to those that are considered higher vibration, my entire life experience changed for the better.
Looking back, it’s clear to me now that most of my negative past experiences and difficulties I faced were due to my low-frequency thoughts, actions, and emotions. Much of the trouble I encountered could have been avoided if I had the knowledge I have now.
But I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and if it weren’t for my past experiences, I wouldn’t be where I am today, and I most certainly wouldn’t be writing about it!
So, let’s get back to it!
What Is a High Frequency, Anyway?
When people talk about “high frequency” or “high vibe,” they’re usually referring to emotions and states of being that are positive, peaceful, and magnetic. Think:
- Love
- Joy
- Gratitude
- Peace
- Inspiration
- Empowerment
These emotional states vibrate at a higher energetic frequency than emotions like fear, anger, guilt, or shame. The higher your frequency, the more aligned you are with your true self—and the more effortlessly you attract people, opportunities, and experiences that match that energy.
Of course, we all have bad days or feel negative emotions. One bad mood or a few negative thoughts won’t ruin everything; it’s about your overall vibration, not occasional bad moods.
The key is to:
- Catch yourself when you slip into lower states
- Compassionately course-correct
- Return to your rituals that bring you back into alignment
I share more on how to raise your vibration with daily mood boosters in “How to Feel Good and Be Happy Every Day.”

9 Definite Ways to Raise Your Vibration
1. Protect Your Energy
When you become aware of how certain situations or people make you feel, you have the power to limit or expose yourself to those triggers, good or bad.
We all know people who consistently emit negative, low-vibe energy. While we can’t always avoid these people, we can limit our interactions and keep them neutral when possible.
When we let other people’s actions affect how we feel, we are giving away our power to them.
I say this, yet I unknowingly let people’s energy affect me more often than I would like.
Working with people who are very negative and struggle to speak kindly to their peers can be very challenging. They expel their negative energy and stress onto others, and when you are the one who is in the line of fire, it’s no wonder your energy takes a hit.
As someone who strives always to be kind to others, this really bothers me. I constantly have to remind myself of the one thing I have control over: myself.
I focus on doing my job and what is best for me. I let them be and let them deal with their emotions, sometimes the only way they know how.
Most people lack the tools and knowledge to manage their emotions effectively.
And while I now have the tools and knowledge, I still, at times, let things and people impact my energy.
When this happens, I find it best to understand and process my emotions, and then refocus my attention on what makes me feel good.
The people we come into contact with aren’t the only ones who can affect our energy. People we encounter on social media, and sometimes even those we know, can lower our vibration simply by the content they post.
What you watch, read, and scroll through matters. Ask yourself: “Does this uplift or drain me?”
I limit my time on social media. We all know it has the potential to be very toxic and depressing. When I do decide to go on, I refrain from commenting on anything negative; I only post positive content. If I sense my energy shifting downward on the emotional scale, I immediately disengage from whatever platform I am on.
While it is essential to stay informed about current events, I choose to keep my television off the news channel. Whenever I hear the news, it’s all negative and depressing information. I personally don’t like to hear about all the bad things happening in the world.
If it’s something I need to know about, I will usually find out from someone or see it somewhere other than the news. These days, it’s hard to miss anything profound that’s going on.
If you enjoy watching the news, then have at it. If it doesn’t affect you the way it does me, and you like to know everything that’s happening, then you can ignore everything I just said. After all, it’s about what makes you feel good!

2. Choose Nutrient-Rich, High-Vibe Foods
Everything you eat carries a frequency. Fresh, whole, living foods are naturally high-vibe—because they come from the earth, not a lab.
The food you eat either charges or drains you. To keep your frequency high, nourish yourself with foods that are fresh, organic, and vibrant (such as colorful fruits and greens, and whole grains).
We are human after all, and eating healthy, high-vibe foods all the time is most definitely a challenge. We aren’t perfect and need to indulge occasionally, as long as we are getting all the recommended nutrients and mixing these lower-vibration foods with those of a higher vibration.
When I notice I am feeling down or tired for no apparent reason, the first thought that comes to my mind is, “Did I eat something that caused me to feel this way?”
On days when I eat a majority of fresh, healthy, higher-vibration foods and less of the processed junk or sugar, I notice that I feel better overall.
You don’t need to follow a perfect diet, but be mindful of how food affects your energy levels.
When you pay attention to how the foods you eat make you feel, you can then start to add or subtract them from your list of frequent foods.
And let’s not forget to hydrate! Water is a powerful conductor of energy and emotions.
Often, we can confuse dehydration for hunger. When we are dehydrated, we can experience headaches, fatigue, brain fog, and moodiness. All of which are low-vibration feelings.
The most frequent ones for me are headaches and low energy. Even though I am well aware of how it makes me feel, I still have days when I don’t drink enough water, and I have to start drinking water like it’s my job if I want to get rid of my headache and low energy (and maybe even a bad mood at times).
The good thing about hydrating with water? It’s such a simple and convenient way to maintain a high vibe!
3. Move Your Body
In a world where screens, stress, and overstimulation surround us constantly, it’s easy to feel stuck, sluggish, or even disconnected from ourselves.
But there’s one simple, powerful tool that’s always available to you — your body. And when you move it with intention, you raise your vibration.
The body and mind are deeply intertwined. When you feel low emotionally, your body often mirrors that. You might feel heavy, tense, or fatigued. Likewise, when you’re energized and positive, your body feels lighter and more expansive.
When you move your body, you release stagnant energy and stimulate endorphins ( your brain’s feel-good chemicals), which we love!
Raising your vibration through movement can be as simple or as structured as you like. You don’t need to be in a good mood to move. In fact, movement is what helps create a better mood.

Here are a few powerful ways to get moving:
Dance Freely
Try putting on your favorite music and let your body move however it wants.
Stretch and Breathe
Gentle movement like yoga or intuitive stretching invites you back into your body. Pair it with deep breathing, and you’ve got a recipe for calm, grounded, high-frequency energy.
Walk in Nature
Walking is underrated. Add in fresh air, trees, and a little sunlight, and it becomes a potent vibrational reset. Nature naturally attunes us to a higher frequency.
Move with Intensity
Try cardio exercises, boxing, jumping jacks, or weightlifting. Moving with intensity allows you to transmute lower emotions into energy and power.
You don’t have to wait to feel better to move. You move to feel better.
4. Spend Time With Positive People
Remember how I mentioned that other people’s energy can affect ours?
When you surround yourself with positive people who uplift and inspire you, it will surely raise your vibration.
It may not be possible to avoid people who drain our energy altogether, but we can limit our time and interactions with them.
If you have a friend, coworker, or family member who you love to be around because they radiate positivity and make you feel good, spend more time with them!
While we can’t choose our family, and we don’t always get to choose the people we have to work with, we do have a choice in who we decide to spend our free time with. So choose wisely!
5. Create a Positive Environment
There are many ways you can add positivity to your work and living environment.
You can try decluttering and organizing your workspace and home, adding some elements that promote positivity and joy, and personalizing it with pictures or awards that ignite happy memories.
I am a sucker for anything positive and inspiring. I have pictures and sayings all through my home that empower me and make me feel good.
And of course, I have pictures of my three boys (who are the light of my life) all around, even on my phone and watch! Seeing them always brings a smile to my face!
You can even add plants or some form of nature. Nature vibrates at the highest frequency, and spending time in it or around it is a sure-fire way to raise your vibration.

6. Practice Daily Gratitude
Gratitude is one of the fastest ways to raise your vibration. It instantly shifts your focus from what’s lacking to what’s abundant.
When your thoughts and emotions are those of appreciation, you are vibrating at one of the highest frequencies.
Gratitude is an excellent example of the Law of Attraction. When we are grateful, we attract more things to be grateful for. It is a powerful tool to attract more positivity into your life.
It’s not just about being grateful for the big things; it’s also about being grateful for the small things and everything in between.
If you need some help with where to start, you can give these things a try:
Writing 3–5 things you’re grateful for each day
Saying “thank you” aloud when something good happens
Noticing the small, beautiful moments in everyday life
I make a gratitude list each night before bed. It consists of people or things I am grateful for, such as my boys and my health, as well as positive moments or experiences from the day.
I always show gratitude throughout the day by saying “thank you” to even the simplest things. To me, anything that makes life simpler or creates a positive emotion is a reason to be grateful.
Sometimes, the little things we can be grateful for go unnoticed because we aren’t looking for them. However, when we take the time to notice the good things around us, it can spark a feeling of appreciation, thereby raising our vibration.
In my article, “How to Change Your Life with Daily Gratitude,” I share more about the power of gratitude and outline six steps to cultivate gratitude every day.
7. Speak Kindly to Yourself and Others
Have you ever noticed how words can either lift your spirit or weigh you down?
A compliment from a stranger can brighten your whole day, and a harsh inner thought can dim your energy in seconds. That’s because words — whether spoken to yourself or others — carry energy. And that energy directly affects your vibration.
Every word you speak or think has a vibrational frequency. Loving, encouraging, truthful words carry high frequencies. Judgmental, critical, and harsh words carry lower frequencies.

Your body, your nervous system, and your environment all respond to the energy of your words — whether you’re speaking them aloud or silently thinking them.
So when you speak kindly, you’re doing much more than being positive — you’re literally shifting your energy field to a higher frequency.
Kind self-talk — even when you’re struggling — raises your vibration by aligning you with acceptance, love, and compassion.
When you catch yourself in negative self-talk, you can gently reframe it. You have the power to change your thoughts and the words you use. It just takes a little awareness and practice.
If you’re finding it hard to manage negative thoughts and have difficulty speaking kindly to yourself, as I once did, I recommend the books “Don’t Believe Everything You Think” by Joseph Nguyen and “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy.
The words you speak to others are also energetic transmissions. High-vibe communication creates trust, safety, and harmony — all of which reflect back to you.
On the flip side, gossip, sarcasm, passive aggression, or criticism may feel temporarily satisfying — but they lower your vibration by reinforcing disconnection, fear, or ego.
When your emotions rise, pause. Breathe. And always choose kindness.
8. Limit Complaints
Complaining may seem harmless, but it has a real impact on your vibration, mindset, and even your physical body.
It gives us a quick release, a shared sense of “me too,” or a way to vent what’s been building inside. But over time, constant complaining doesn’t actually free us — it drains us.
Here’s what happens energetically when you complain:
- You focus on what’s wrong
- You relive or reinforce negative emotions
- You train your brain to look for more problems
- You lower the frequency of your thoughts, words, and emotions
So if you’re constantly focusing on what’s frustrating, unfair, or annoying — guess what you’re amplifying in your life?
Neuroscience research suggests that complaining can rewire your brain to be more sensitive to negativity. It literally makes it easier to fall into cycles of pessimism, comparison, and dissatisfaction.
It also raises cortisol levels (your body’s stress hormone), which can:
- Suppress your immune system
- Increase anxiety or irritability
- Disrupt sleep and digestion
In short: constant complaining doesn’t just lower your vibe — it impacts your well-being.
Try to go one day without complaining and see how you feel. Every time you catch yourself complaining, pause and name one thing you’re grateful for in that moment.
Start small, catch one complaint, and reframe your reaction. Speak one kind word where you might’ve chosen frustration. That’s how you begin to raise your vibration — not all at once, but moment by moment.
Limiting how much you complain is one of the most effective, underrated ways to elevate your energy.

9. Do More of What You Love
Joy is a high-frequency emotion. When you do something you love, your body and mind align in the present moment. That state of presence is where your vibration naturally begins to rise.
The more aligned you are with joy, curiosity, and creativity, the more magnetic your energy becomes.
You begin to attract opportunities that feel good, people who resonate with you, and a more profound sense of peace and purpose.
Whether it’s singing, gardening, dancing, or reading, they’re not just hobbies; they’re vibrational practices that bring joy and fulfillment.
For me, writing and this blog are things that bring those joyful, fulfilling feelings to the surface. I enjoy it so much that I can get lost in it for hours. I sometimes don’t even want to take a break to eat! That’s when you know you have found your passion!
Now that doesn’t mean you have to do something you love for hours. Even just 10-15 minutes a day can shift your entire mood and mindset.
When you follow your joy, you tune into the frequency of your higher self — the version of you that is free, empowered, and in flow.
Do what you love, spend time with people you love, and surround yourself with positivity. Look for reasons to be grateful every day and speak kindly to yourself and others.
When you do these things, you will raise your frequency and attract more high-frequency experiences into your life.
Your vibration is your power. It affects how you feel, what you attract, and how you show up in the world. The more you raise it — even with small, intentional shifts — the more magnetic, peaceful, and connected you become.
You have the power to raise your vibration — and sustain it consciously.
